Andrew WK – Party Hard, ukulele tab

Andrew Wk partying hard

In his own words, Andrew WK is a Musician, TV Personality, Motivational Speaker, Nightclub Owner.  He also likes to party hard.  In any eighties party scene he would be the chap threatening to do some crazy shit, like cut an arm off,  because he was in a party frenzy.

Now consider this: what could be better for your ukulele party playing than the chords for Andrew WK?  Nothing, I think – certainly not Pink, who’s song feebly asks others to, get this party started.  Couldn’t she start it herself?  Doesn’t sound like her heart was ever really in the whole partying business.  So back to the pro, Andrew WK.  Here’s the chords to party hard. I’ve simplified them but the main riff section is still a little tricky to play at first.  However, once you get the hang of playing it, the unlimited use of the word party, as a verb of course, will be open to you for ever more.  It’s worth the effort, I think.

Hillbilly Album – I married a wife (I wish I were single again)

This was a present.  Like all old songbooks it has the ukulele chords in it.  The thing I most love about this is that I’ve never heard some of these songs but the song titles are amazing.  I can play them and make up my own tune to them.

Hallelujah, I’m a Bum! is one of my favourites – I live for the day when I can speak those words.  What’s also neat about this book is the little ukulele chord diagrams.  See the song below, I Married A Wife (I Wish I Were Single Again).  An anthem for every married sex pest out there.

Herman Dune – From the Richest Planet, ukulele tab

From the Richest Planet, is a fine song from David-Ivar Herman Dune’s, Ya Ya, album.  He’s a big fan of the four stringed instrument and he has a large beard.  Enjoy.

Here’s the tab -

Art Garfunkel – Bright Eyes ukulele chords

Art Garfunkel scared the living crap out of me when I was younger.  On one level it was the clown like hair, strange waistcoats and lady-like voice.  That would have been enough but then he goes and gets involved in a film about bunny rabbits (Watership Down, if you’re interested).  As a result every time I hear the song, Bright Eyes, like many others of my generation, a tensing of the chest and an irrational fear creeps over me.

Besides Art giving this song to some deranged film producer to add to a film about psycotic rabbits, he’s also the man who has every book he’s ever read catalogued on his website.  To most people this seems like he’s outragously pretentious.  To me, it just means he’s my hero.  I’m not sure if it’s the steadfast dedication to reading or the OCD aspect of list writing that’s behind my admiration, all I know is that one day I can have a list of something on the internet like Art does, maybe a cool haircut like him and if I ever find a Garfunkel signature waistcoat, I’m buying it.

Yo La Tengo ukulele chords for Nothing to Hide

Just posted another song.  The bubblegum punk track, Nothing to Hide, from Yo Lo Tengo’s latest album, Popular Songs.  It’s a throw away three chords song full of charm.  Although there’s no ukulele on the recorded version I think a ukulele put through a distortion pedal would sound amazing.

Here are the chords:  Yo La Tengo – Nothing to Hide
